Our planet’s Mantle is the thickest layer, made up of hot, molten rock and is about 2,900 km thick
The Outer Core is a liquid layer composed primarily of iron and nickel which is about 2,200 km thick.
The Inner Core is solid, dense sphere which is also composed primarily of iron and nickel. this layer is about 2,442 km in diameter
The Earth's internal heat comes from the decay of radioactive elements in the core and mantle. This heat drives plate tectonics, which shape the planet's surface.
